I stopped by my local Sally Beauty after hearing about the new nail changes they have been making. I wanted to get a few new nail shades for the upcoming Spring so I visited over the weekend. The new nail section, appropriately named The Nail Studio, is amazing! They have redesigned the whole area to hold 750 nail shades, gel polish, and hundreds of nail tools and supplies. The huge wall is stocked with the best names in nails like OPI, China Glaze, Gelish and one of my favorite brands, exclusive to only Sally Beauty, FingerPaints. I’m officially calling it The Great Wall of nail polish!
After shopping for over 20 minutes, I picked up a few shades from the brilliant wall of color. Inspired by New York’s Fashion Week Spring trends, I created a watercolor nail look.
During this Spring’s Fashion Week, negative space and abstract flower patterns are in so why not have them at your fingertips.
For this Spring time inspired nail look you will only need a few things, all of which you can get from Sally Beauty.
You Will Need:
- Three Nail Polish shades; OPI Miami Beet, FingerPaints Margritte’s Masterpiece & OPI Mod About You
- A small flat nail brush
- A dotting tool
- A cap or small cup to put nail polish remover in
Step 1: Take three nail polish shades; OPI Miami Beet, FingerPaints Margritte’s Masterpiece & OPI Mod About You, and put a small drop on a piece of foil or wax paper.
Step 2. Dip your nail brush in the nail polish remover. Dip the wet brush into your first nail color and apply it to your nail to create the watercolor flower. Repeat all over your nail with the other two nail polish shades.
Step 3. Take your dotting tool and use another nail shade to add a center to each watercolor flower. I used OPI Cajun Shrimp.
Step 4. Wait until dry to available streaking your art. Apply a 2 coats of a glossy top coat to make the colors POP.
