Princess Hair Shop is a female owned high-quality hair extension company located in Northern California. The brand offers over 10 types of hair textures and install options. I wanted a protective hair style for my natural hair. My Summer choice is always a curly mane. I’m very selective about the quality of hair that I select because depending on the quality of curly hair it can dry out, tangle and/or fizz up. I review Princess Hair Shops website and I went with the Burmese Curly Hair. Burmese Hair is not a very well known texture. I did a little internet research and I liked what I found. Plus I wanted a texture that was soft, had volume and would blend with my natural hair.
The curly and wavy hair from Princess Hair Shop is measured when it is stretched. Keep in mind that curly hair can lose between 3-5 inches depending on how tight the curl pattern. My desired style was slightly longer than shoulder length so I order 3 bundles of 16 inch Burmese Curly.
The three bundles of 16″ Burmese Curly Hair arrived was pre-cowashed. It was all the same length and didn’t taper at the tips. The hair arrived shiny, very soft and smelled freshly clean. The steam curls were uniquely coiled and didn’t look too uniform, which I wanted. To me, the curls look more natural that way.
Burmese Curly hair comes in a standard natural 1B. However, I was feeling a little adventurous plus I’m still mourning the loss of Prince so I asked my hair stylist, Brandi Bell of Brandish Beauty, to color a few of the wefts purple. She used Adore Hair Dye in African Violet.
After the install of 3 bundles by Brandish Beauty, I was able to style the hair with water, conditioner and a little bit of olive oil. I experienced minimal shedding and no breakage.
The quality of Princess Hair Shop Burmese hair is excellent. It maintains it’s hair pattern, colors well, and doesn’t tangle. Now, I have to warn new curly hair extension wearers, curly hair protective styles are not wake-up and go, to say the least. Like a head full of naturally curly hair it has to be moistened and detangled to look fresh for the day. It may take you about 10 to 15 minutes in the morning to get it just right. I suggest keeping a bottle of 1/3 distilled water, 1/3 leave in conditioner & 1/3 hair oil like argan, coconut or olive oil. Using this mixture I’m able to finger comb these locks with ease.
