I stumbled upon Me Fragrance while doing some research for another article I was writing about natural oil and vegan perfumes. I noticed that the site had a lot of information about how to create your own fragrance, the scent balance and blending suggestions. I love perfumes but I’m one of those people that doesn’t want to smell like everyone else. I’m always seeking that “OMG, YOU SMELL SO GOOD” reaction from people when they come near me or hug me LOL
Don’t get me wrong, the leading fragrances are great but I want to be extra unique in my personal scent. I’ve even mixed my perfumes and lotions a little to be a little be more unique.
There are several steps to designing your own fragrance. First, you select what product you want to design. There is a large selection to choose from. You can design a fragrance in a bottle, a soy candle, reed diffuser, body lotion, body wash, body souffle, shampoo, conditioner, bath salts, sugar body scrub, bath and body oil, room spray and hand soap. Once you select the item and the size of the item that you want, you move on to designing the fragrance.
When you start to design the fragrance there are three options to choose from:
Designer fragrance – select from fragrances that you already like. Me Fragrance will not dupe a perfume on the market, but you are welcome to try to do it yourself.
Fragrance Family – select a fragrance family like Floral, Woody, Citus/Fruit, Greens, etc.
Pre-mixed blend – select from pre-mixed bases that you can add or subtract scents too.
There are over 150 different essential & fragrance oils, the perfume combinations are limitless. When blending you can select up to 6 different fragrances to create a customize fragrance just for you.
A good rule is to have about 25% base notes, 45% middle notes and 30% top notes. Perfume creation is definitely a subjective process so you are always free to blend whatever you like, these are only guidelines to help you get started and give you the info needed to build an exquisite signature fragrance.
I selected a sample size of water based fragrance. I worked on my fragrance for 3 days to make sure I created something that I would wear. I didn’t want it to get here and I couldn’t stand it. At the end, I selected scents that I really like and hoped that it worked out for the best. I named my first fragrance Guess Work for obvious reasons.
I was so excited to smell my creation. The processing time is 1 to 3 working days and it ships from Santa Ana, CA so I didn’t have to wait too long. Once it arrived, I could smell it through the package. It was absolutely AMAZING. The fragrance was a lovely mix of my selections that was rich and very full. It didn’t have a watered down smell at all.
Me Fragrance is a really great service that is inexpensive to use but provides high-quality products. You can design a fragrance and receive a sample to see if you got it right then you can order several different size bottles.

The finished result is the most amazing thing I’ve ever smelled. It was exactly how I imagined with. And with no petrochemicals, alcohols, DPGs, parabens, SLS, or PEG’s when I wore it, it didn’t turn on me. You know how you wear a perfume that smells GREAT in the bottle but when you wear it, it smells like someone splashed wet goat on you?! That’s because of all the synthetic ingredients mixing with your sweat and oil. That didn’t happen with this. I wore it for the next 2 weeks and I kind you not, everyone that I came into contact with said “You smell so good, what is that? I need that!” From the grocery store to the MAC store, people were coming up to me and telling me they loved what I have on.
