During my last shopping trip I noticed that Sephora was carrying Black Up Cosmetics. I have featured Black Up Cosmetics in the past but I had acquired them from their website so I was very excited to see them in my local Sephora. I hadn’t tried the Full Coverage Cream Foundation and I have been looking for a new foundation since I came back from Jamaica.
There are 15 shades of Black Up Cosmetics Full Coverage Cream Foundation so it was pretty easy to match my skin tone. I chose two shades that looked the closest to my natural tone, HC 05 (medium light with yellow undertone) and HC 07 (medium with yellow undertone) and I created the look below with those two shades.
I also used:
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow in Chocolate
MAC Studio Pro Concealer in NC45
Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner
Alter Ego Love At Lash Lashes
Sp3ctrum Cosmetics Lip Glaze in Farrah
Price | $43.50 / £28.73 / €38.84 / ¥276.50

Product | “This foundation’s innovative, rich, whipped, cream texture perfectly conceals flaws and blemishes— including dark spots, scars, flaws, and blemishes—for flawless, smooth-looking skin. Enriched with ultra fine, micronized pigments, this foundation offers an even makeup result in pure, vibrant colors and a vibrant finish.” – Sephora.com
Pigmentation | The Full Coverage Cream Foundation appeared to have great pigmentation in the store but when I got it home to apply with my Kabuki Brush, it came up a little short. I had to use way more than I thought I would have to get good coverage.
Application | It applies very smooth but is slightly sticky after application. I had to apply 3 quarter size amounts of product to get a good coverage without streaking.
Texture | The texture of the Black Up Full Coverage Cream Foundation is smooth and creamy without being runny. I like the texture as it goes on, probably because it’s oil free. I didn’t experience any feathering but I did experience some stickiness that disappeared after about 5 minutes.
Longevity | This is definitely not a full coverage all day wear formula. It lasted for about 3 hours with a lot of transfer and smudging. It didn’t turn shades as many yellow based foundations do but it didn’t last very long.

Overall | As I said before I have featured Black Up Cosmetics in the past and all and all they are pretty good products. Unfortunately, the Full Coverage Cream Foundation is not one of their best products. They had the right idea with the shades and the oil free formula but the staying power and the serious transfer was not the best for everyday wear.
Looking out for many of the other Black | Up Cosmetic products in your local Sephora and www.Sephora.com
